Aims and Scope

Binawan Journal of Nursing (BJN) is an open access  published by Nursing Study Program  of Universitas Binawan. The main objective of BJN is to provide a platform for the international scholars, academicians and researchers to share the contemporary thoughts in the fields of  child nursing, maternity nursing, medical-surgical nursing, critical nursing, emergency nursing, mental nursing, community nursing, gerontik nursing, family nursing, and nursing leadership and management.

Peer Review Process

 

The research article submitted to this online journal will be peer-reviewed. The accepted research articles will be available online (free download) following the journal peer-reviewing process. Language used in this Journal is English.

Reviewing a manuscript written by a fellow scientist is a privilege. However, it is a time-consuming responsibility. Hence, BJN Editorial Board, authors, and audiences appreciate your willingness to accept this responsibility and your dedication. BJN adheres to a blind peer-review process that is rapid and fair, and also ensures a high quality of articles published. In so doing, BJN needs reviewers who can provide insightful and helpful comments on submitted manuscripts with a turn around time of about 4 weeks. Maintaining BJN as a scientific journal of high quality depends on reviewers with a high level of expertise and an ability to be objectivefair, and insightful in their evaluation of manuscripts.

  4. Valuable contribution to the science
  5. Adding new aspects to the existed field of study
  6. Ethical aspects
  7. Structure of the article submitted and its relevance to authors’ guidelines

Publication Frequency

BJN is published twice a year during June and December.

 

Open Access Policy

 

BJN provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Non-commercial use and distribution in any medium is permitted, provided the author and the journal are properly credited.

BJN also operates under the Creative Commons Licence CC-BY-NC. This allows for the reproduction of articles, free of charge, for non-commercial use only and with the appropriate citation information. All authors publishing with the BJN accept these as the terms of publication.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

Publication Fee

BJN is dedicated to open access both for readers and authors. There will be for article submission and subsciption. Under the Journal’s open access initiative, authors can choose to download free material (via PDF link) from any of the journal issues from BJN’s website http://journal.binawan.ac.id/index.php/BJN/index under “Current Issues” or “Archives". However, for production process (Article Processing Charge), it requires 75 USD (including review, copyediting, and layout). For the Hard copy of the journal, it requires 25 USD/copy and extra shipping cost for overseas if the author needs the hardcopy of the journal.

Publication Schedule

 

BJN is published twice a year during April and October with a minimum number 7 articles for a volume and a maximum number 20 articles. The submission will be open whole year.

BJN accepts submission for the following types. 

1. Regular article

Regular articles are full-length original empirical investigations and research, consisting of introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion, conclusions.  Original work must provide references and an explanation on research findings that contain new and significant findings.

Note: The article should in 6 and 12 journal pages (excluding the abstract, references, tables and/or figures), a maximum of 20 references, and an abstract of 100–200 words.

2. Review article

Review article is critical evaluation of materials about current research that has already been published by organizing, integrating, and evaluating previously published materials. It summarizes the status of knowledge and outline future directions of research within the journal scope. It aims to provide systemic overviews, evaluations and interpretations of research in a given field. The manuscript title must start with "Review Article:".

Note: The articles is about 7-10 pages, include appropriate figures and/or tables, and an abstract of 100–200 words. 

 

Language Accuracy and Plagiarism Check

 

BJN emphasizes on language accuracy.  It must be writeen in English with clear and concise grammatical English. The authors are suggest to have the manuscript checked by a colleague or reputable institution. Author must provide submission with Certificate of Check from reputable institution. We also provide proofreading and translation with extra cost.

BJN also concern about the originality of the article. Plagiarism is intolerable. The article will be banished and the author will be rejected for future submission. 

For screening language accuracy and plagiarism check, BJN uses several tools including:
