Background: As we get older, every individual begins to experience many changes. The elderly experience physical, mental and social changes. Blood pressure is a problem that often occurs in the elderly. The older you get, the more blood pressure disorders occur. If blood pressure is not maintained, problems will arise in others. Tai Chi exercises when done regularly can increase flexibility, reduce stress, improve lung function, and stabilize blood pressure. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a two groups pre-test post-test model. Sample aged 60 years and over with blood pressure disorders. The number of samples used was 40, namely 20 samples for the experimental group, and 20 for the control group. The intervention was given in the form of Tai Chi exercise with a duration of 30 minutes for 4 weeks, 12 meetings, 3 times a week. Blood pressure measurement using a sphygmomanometer. The data analysis used was a paired t-test. Results: The mean blood pressure before the intervention was 132.75mmHg systole and 126.75mmHg after the intervention. Tai Chi exercise showed significant results P Value <0.05. Conclusions and Suggestions: The effect of Tai Chi exercise can affect blood pressure. For the elderly who experience or do not experience blood pressure disorders, they can do routine Tai Chi exercises to stabilize blood pressure.
