Hypertension are common in adult population and lead to significant morbidity and mortality. The purpose of this study are to assess the relation between systolic blood pressure and Body Mass Index, smoking habits and gender among people aged 15 – 65 years old in Duren Sawit Village, East Jakarta, 2012. This study used a cross sectional study design that a a total of 150 respondents (81 females and 69 males) from Duren Sawit village, East Jakarta. The respondents were randomly selected. Prevalence of systolic blood pressure was assessed using WHO 2011 criteria, while Body Mass Index was calculated using WHO 2000. The data were analyzed using non parametric tests. The study showed that body mass index with systolic blood pressure have no significant correlation ( p = 0, 273), smoking with systolic blood pressure have significant correlation (p = 0, 001) and gender with systolic blood pressure have significant correlation (p = 0,025). Body mass index with systolic blood pressure have no significant correlation and smoking and gender with systolic blood pressure have significant correlation.
