Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the elderly exercise intervention on the elderly aged 60-72 years on changes in the results of aerobic capacity and the 6-minute walking distance test (6-MWD) related to cardiorespiratory fitness and by gender in Barengkok Village, Leuwiliang District, Kabupaten Barengkok. Bogor in 2017. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with pre and post design in the elderly group aged 60-72 years, which was in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria and with the variable influence of the elderly exercise intervention on aerobic capacity (VO2 Max) cardiorespiratory fitness seen in the mileage test. 6 minutes (6-MWD) and by gender before and after the elderly exercise intervention. Results: The results of this study obtained a significance value of 0.00 (p < 0.05) with an average walking distance of 6 minutes before the intervention of 320 ± 398 m included in the weak group and an average walking distance of 6 minutes after the intervention. of 400 ± 468 m which can be categorized as normal. And based on gender, the Wilcoxon test value obtained a significance value of 0.00 (p < 0.05) with an average 6-minute walk (6-MWD) male before the intervention of 386 m including the weak group and the average The average walking distance of 6 minutes after the intervention for males is 418 m which can be categorized as normal and the average female walking distance 6 minutes before the intervention is 362 m, which is included in the weak group and the average walking distance of 6 minutes after the intervention for women is equal to 419 m which can be categorized as normal. And the results of this dependent t test obtained a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) with a mean value of aerobic capacity before intervention 13.57 and mean aerobic capacity after intervention 15.46. Which is where the difference in the mean before and after the intervention is -1.89. Conclusion: There is a significant effect with p value = 0.000 (p < 0.05) between the elderly exercise intervention on changes in aerobic capacity in the elderly in Barengkok Village, Leuwiliang District, Bogor-West Java Regency, the frequency value before the intervention was 88.2 % had normal aerobic capacity, while the poor was 11.8% and after the elderly exercise intervention changed to 100% which was normal. after the elderly exercise intervention.
