ABSTRACT
Objectives : This study aims to analyze the relationship between physical activity and depression and stress in the elderly in Barengkok Village and Puraseda Village, Leuwiliang District, Bogor Regency in 2017. Method: This type of research is a cross sectional which is a further analysis of the data before the intervention from the main research "The Effect of Giving Interventions for Elderly Gymnastics and Complementary Therapy on Physical and Mental Health in the Elderly". The number of samples in this study were 80 people who were selected by random sampling. The research instrument used MAS and IPAQ. Data analysis was carried out by univariate and bivariate analysis. The normality test was carried out using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and it was known that the data was not normally distributed, so the hypothesis was used the Spearman test. Results: The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between the average physical activity (4120.19 ± 7133.51) and depression (15.79 ± 3.73). and statistically not significant with p = 0.13 (p > 0.05). Conclusion: There was a relationship between the condition of physical activities with depression in Puraseda and Barengkok village. There is a correlation between physical activity and depression, with weak correlations and statistically insignificant.and From this result it can be concluded that the corelation physical activity and stress in elderly aged ≥60 years old have no corelation with the p=0.49.
