Abstract

Objective : To describe maternal depression during pregnancy related to Body Mass Index (BMI) for the category of obesity and low back pain in Leuwiliang District, Bogor Regency. Method : This study is a survey research using the Cross Sectional method taken from the parent research with 100 respondents of pregnant women entitled "Overview of the Health Condition of Pregnant Women and Growth of Children Aged 0-60 Months (Villagers) in the Village with the Biggest and Smallest Subject Population in Leuwiliang District in 2019 ". Result : This study showed no significant correlation between maternal depression during pregnancy and BMI in the category of maternal obesity showing the results of mothers with depression during pregnancy (86%) who were not depressed or normal (14%) and obese mothers (82%) while those who were not obese or normal (18%) in Leuwiliang District, Bogor Regency with P value = 0.463 and correlation value r = -0.051.and The results of this study based on the chi-square test showed that the relationship between depression and lower back pain values ​​obtained x2 = 0.240 showed no significant results because the value of x2 = 0.240 is smaller than the table value that is x2table = 3.841. With the level of p-value = 0.767 which means that it is not significant. Conclusion: There was no significant correlation between maternal depression during pregnancy and maternal BMI in Leuwiliang District, Bogor Regency with a measuring instrument in the form of a Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS) questionnaire, Weight and Midline Scales.and there is no significant relationship between depression and low back pain.
