Abstract

Objective: to determine changes in blood pressure and pulse rate in the elderly during a 5-week reflexology program in Puraseda Village, Leuwiliang District, Bogor Regency in 2017. Methods: This study is a further analysis of the study "The Effect of Elderly Gymnastics and Complementary Therapy on Physical and Mental Health in the Elderly" using a quasi-experimental study with pre and post designs in the elderly group aged 60-72 years according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria in this study. Leuwiliang Subdistrict, Puraseda Village to see the effect of reflexology intervention on blood pressure and pulse rate. Results: The results of the pulse rate using the paired t-test, there was a change during reflexology monitoring 5 weeks, before the monev-I was significant with p = 0.000 (p <0.005) and Wilcoxon test results 4 subjects decreased diastolic blood pressure, 12 subjects had blood pressure diastolic blood increased and 6 remained. statistically showed a significant difference p = 0.01 (p < 0.05) in the session before the intervention. Conclusion: Then, the statistical results showed a significant result at heart rate p=0.00 in the session before monev-I and monev-II before p=0.05. Meanwhile, the heart rate was not significant in the monev-I and monev-II sessions, so it can be said that the reflexology keyword has changed for 5 weeks.
