Low back pain (LBP) is a common health problem experienced by individuals of all ages, which can be caused by abnormalities in the muscles, bones, joints or ligaments. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of massage therapy in reducing low back pain in patients. The research method used is a literature review approach, by searching for references using the PICO method on the Google Scholar database over a period of 10 years. The author found 6 journals, 3 journals that can be researched. The results of the analysis showed that massage therapy, including Swedish massage and hot stone massage, significantly reduced the intensity of low back pain, increased range of motion, and improved the patient's quality of life. A significant reduction in pain was noted with a p value < 0.05, indicating that massage therapy is an effective intervention to relieve low back pain. This study recommends the use of massage therapy as part of a non-pharmacological approach in the management of low back pain.
