Abstract

The primary purpose of this study was to analyze the differences perceived skill in EBP 

based on highest degree held and age of physiotherapist. The design of the study was cross-sectional with random  purposive in selected hospitals  and private clinics in Jakarta and its surrounding areas in 2013. The statistical analyses performed on the dataset of 101 physiotherapists were Chi Square test with the p-value set on 0,05. Statistic finding describe physiotherapist education level was 81,2%  diploma III and 18,8% diploma IV with the oldest physiotherapist was 58 years old and youngest was 23 years old. It was found no difference in perceived EBP skills. Education level diploma III was 67,1% confident perceived EBP skills and diploma IV degree was 78,9%.  Comparing the group of ages, there were also no differences in perceived skill in EBP.  Age≤ 29, 30-39, 40-49,and ≥  50 years was 66,7%,  65,9%, 69,6%, and 81,3% confident in perceived EBP skills. Study mainly concluded that there is no significant developmental effort especially by the institute of diploma IV physiotherapy in the country to generate physiotherapists with skills of EBP.
