Abstract

The development of religious and moral values is based on Kohlberg's theory about moral theory where moral development starts from the most basic stage called preconventional moral reasoning. At this level, early childhood has not yet internalized moral values, children begin to follow the rules but also still follow their pleasures. Children aged 4-6 years currently do not know when asked what religion they believe in, early childhood is still confused about the differences in religions they believe in, children do not want to follow obligatory worship while having fun playing, children do not know the religious holidays they believe in and some have not applied religious and moral values in everyday life. Such as being honest, helping and maintaining personal hygiene. In the application of these religious and moral values, the role of parents is very important where early childhood at this stage will imitate what they see and hear. In this case, the role of parents is an important thing that is needed so that the development of religious and moral values can develop optimally. This is in accordance with the opinion of Yanizon where parents are the first place where children's morals are formed. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of parental role models on the development of religious and moral values in early childhood. The method used in this study is quantitative research. The statistical technique used to test the hypothesis in the study was the coefficient of determination and conducting a simple regression analysis.
